FAQs

Wait, why is there a distinction between organizations and Greeks? Aren't Greeks are student organizations too?
Yes, Greeks are also student organizations, but they are not included in the organizations section since the Greek lifestyle is very different from your typical student group. Imagine if your student organization required you to rush and then pledge for most of a semester. It'd be different, wouldn't it?

In addition, historically, all Greeks has been given its own section in the yearbook. Check out any of the historical yearbooks in the library of Eshleman Hall (especially the older, older ones - like the ones from the 1920s-40s) and you'll see what we mean.

What is considered a Greek?
Historically, IFC and Panhellenic Greeks have been featured in the Greek section. However, we discovered that NPHC, MCGC, several honor societies, pre-law/med/business fraternities and other organizations with Greek letterings have not been in past yearbooks. We'd like to change that and give every student group an opportunity to be in the yearbook.

How many photos should I submit?
Please submit about 3-8. This can be your performance pictures, rehearsal, recruitments, tabling, social, and group picture is always a good one because you can include a roster. These photos have to be of at least 3.1 megapixel or larger. For example, photos downloaded straight from a digital camera without further compression should suffice. Please note that Facebook photos will be too small to print. Please include captions of each photograph (including names of individuals and a short description of the event), as well as photo credit for the photographer who took it.

Do I have to submit a photo along with my story?
Yes. We recommend sending 3-8 photos. Note: not all photos may be used for the spread.

Can my story be written from a first-person perspective?
Yes. We encourage personal narratives that share firsthand experience! Some possible topics may include a story on your organization, its history, purpose, members, or specific events.

When is the deadline?
Deadlines for all blurbs and two-page spreads will be determined soon.

How long should my story be?
This should be 600-800 words for a two-page spread.

Are there sample spreads available?
Yes. You may stop by our office anytime during normal business hours: M-F 9-6pm, Saturday 11-6pm, or Sunday 12-6pm to view samples in our most recent yearbooks. For digital samples, please contact us. Digital samples will take us a few days to prepare so we thank you for your patience.

We have an event coming up and would like a photographer. Can you cover our event?
Yes. Please contact us and we will work on the arrangements.

Your site doesn't have all the answers I need! Where can I find out more?
Our sincere apologies. We've been working hard to get the process up and running and have been making changes as necessary all along the way. Please contact us with your questions and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
